Hello people

Just a few short weeks until my exams which I'm really looking forward to, so time to go again and what ever you are doing be happy. It's the key life my friends.

The time has come

Hello
Well this will be my last message for well some time any way, my university is getting more and more intents and I find I have less and less time, plus if I am honest I don't feel the frustration that the world will stop turning instead I feel even in the darkest of skies there is always a patch of blue sky.
This is really a great place and we live in a great time, things will get better for us all you just have to believe. I see the world as full of infinite possibility you just have to open you're eyes to it all.
Now for the reasonable part we have some serious problems out there and if we don't deal with them our kids and grandkids will have too, so think about how you can make a difference. It doesn't have to be big it can be something small like saying "hey that's some nice work there" or sharing a joke to make someone laugh. Recycling would probably be better but every little bit helps. xD We can make a difference and not even know it.

The passing of a legend

Well here we are in a post Steve Jobs world, we have lost a creative genius who in his own we helped to define the modern PC era. There will be those who feel different but as Steve suggest in commencement speech "think differently" So if you feel different that's okay.
But as I am sitting here working on my degree level chemistry using my iPad to work out the why atoms do what they do. Its clear to me thinking different and being an individual makes this world a better place and lets face it none of us are here for long, so is it not better to live life to full be a bit crazy and a bit wild; in your own special way change a bit of this world for the better.
That's what Steve did he changed the world for the better, yes you could say he did it for money but that's the world we live in. I mean if a doctor created a cure for every thing would you expect him to work for nothing? Probably not, this does bring me neatly on to why we are here cancer. The big C a scientist once said that we fear what we do not know, its time to stop being afraid. Our specie has over come great odds and together we can beat this and I know one day we will.
Steve's legacy live on and so does his memories, with that being the case he is never really dead he just doesn't feel the pain any more.

The legalization of marijuana

As a student scientist i'm more interested in the chemistry of drugs then the legal aspects of them but in recent weeks
Is marijuana fairly harmless health-wise or even spiritually beneficial?
Yes
Marijuana is no more harmful than tobacco and alcohol Although cannabis does indeed have some harmful effects, it is no more harmful than legal substances like alcohol and tobacco. As a matter of fact, research by the British Medical Association shows that nicotine is far more addictive than cannabis. Furthermore, the consumption of alcohol and the smoking of cigarettes cause more deaths per year than does the use of cannabis (e.g. through lung cancer, stomach ulcers, accidents caused by drunk driving etc.). The legalization of cannabis will remove an anomaly in the law whereby substances that are more dangerous than cannabis are legal whilst the possession and use of cannabis remains unlawful.

But alcohol has lasting damage on the body and causes death when over consumed.Yet, the distinguishing feature of marijuana is that it has greater long-term effects on memory, cognition, and motivations. Marijuana is more the drug of "losers in life" than alcohol. If one primary objective in society is to produce as many succesfull winners, alcohol is less costly to this objective than marijuana. Also, much less is known about he health effects of marijuana than of alcohol; making caution toward legalizing marijuana more appropriate. It is, therefore, fitting that marijuana be illegal while alcohol be legal.
Should individuals be at liberty to use marijuana?
Yes
People should be free to use marijuana as long as it harms no one else People should be at liberty to treat their bodies how they want to. Indeed, people are allowed to eat and drink to their detriment and even death, so why shouldn't they be able to harm themselves with marijuana use? This is, of course, assuming that their use does not harm anyone else. This means, as with substances such as alcohol or cigarrettes, that regulations be put in place to ensure that one individual's consumption of marijuana does not violate the liberties of another citizen. If this is achievable with alcohol and cigarettes, it seems achievable with marijuana.

The State is justified in protecting individuals from themselves Even if marijuana's effects were isolated to the individual, there is room for the state to protect individuals from harming themselves. This is why it is illegal, in some places, not wear a seat belt. If marijuana's effects are seen as clearly harmful, the state can justly protect its citizens from it.
